Back at school
01.19.04 (8:36 pm) [edit]
I'm back at school. The drive was long and boring, as was expected. Now I'm just hanging out here. I only had fifteen dollars to my name to buy groceries with for to last me for who knows how long. That sucked. But I'm kind of glad to be back. Emily and I dyed our hair tonight. Pictures to come soon.
Classes start tomorrow. Wish me luck. ^__^ I will update when I get home tomorrow. Now that I am back I will update more regularly. I promise.

Wedding, etc.
01.12.04 (3:59 pm) [edit]
So, my cousin got married this weekend. It was a nice ceremony at a little church in Denver, except that some of the people laughed when the priest was reading Shannon's vow-thing about what she loves about my cousin. I thought that was kind of mean. The reception was at the Botanical Gardens (Shannon is a botonist) and we got to explore for free. It was really fun. Then we could take home the plants that were on the tables. :) I got to see lots of family because people were hear from all over for the wedding. I think my aunt is happy because my other cousin, Kendra, died a few years ago and now it is like my aunt gets a new daughter, in a way.
Me mum and I went shopping today and then to lunch. We tried to go see a movie about Africa and the Serengeti so we could relive when we were in Africa in March, but the place was closed. :( Ah, well.
I go back to school in less than a week. Meh.

"So this is the New Year... and I don't feel any different"
01.02.04 (4:51 pm) [edit]
So, I am not dead. Really. Even though I never update while I am at home. Anyway, Happy New Year! I had fun. It was my friend Jessica's 21st Birthday, so we had a birthday/New Years party all in one. Her loving parents served this jungle juice that tasted too much like juice and too little like alcohol, which, combined with the fact that I hadn't eaten all day, had me a wee bit sloshed when I hadn't planned on it. Which resulted in Stacy and I also drinking the entire two bottles of Pucker that Stacy bought Jess for her birthday. Erm. But it was fine, I was un-intoxicated enough by 12:30 to drive a couple miles to Tim's house to visit with him and his friends until about 2:30 when I finally went to bed (and felt old since that is sometimes bedtime on a normal weekend). But all in all it was okay (besides Tim getting mad at me for drinking, among other things).
Now I am just being a bum. My mom is in Puerto Rico so I have the house to myself and have been lazing around. Went to Boarders today and used my giftcard to buy five new books, so I have lots of reading to do.
And now I'm off... hopefully there will be a hot-tub party with my girls tonight, but we'll see. Have a good weekend! Ta.
*Note: The title comes from the first track on Deatch Cab for Cutie's alum "Transatlanticism." Very good album that I recommend to all.
